25 years of Promy24.com and a new platform for managing ferry crossings

25 years of Promy24.com and a new ferry booking and management system

Our brand, Promy24.com, is celebrating its 25th anniversary and, at the same time, launching a new version of its ferry booking and management system. This development addresses the real needs of time-pressured businesses: faster route planning, greater cost control, fewer manual arrangements and better predictability throughout the entire process.

The new version of Promy24.com is a response to the needs of transport, logistics and manufacturing companies that want to plan crossings more quickly, control costs more effectively and reduce operational chaos.

Promy24.com, a brand owned by PKS Gdańsk Oliwa SA, is celebrating 25 years in business. The anniversary is accompanied by the launch of a new version of the system for booking and managing ferry crossings for business customers. The changes have been designed with companies in mind that need not only access to ferry operators’ services, but above all greater predictability, faster response times and more efficient handling of the entire process.

Why the new version of Promy24.com matters to business

In organising ferry crossings, the mere ability to make a booking is no longer enough. Today, the quality of service is determined by how quickly a customer can compare options, obtain up-to-date information, react to changes and carry out transport without involving several different parties along the way

The new Promy24.com system streamlines precisely these areas. It reduces the number of manual tasks, streamlines the decision-making process and provides companies with a better tool for managing crossings in their day-to-day operations.

From booking crossings to real-time support for the transport process

Over 25 years, Promy24.com has established itself as one of the leading brands in its category. Today, it is Poland’s largest platform for booking and managing ferry crossings for lorries and vans.

The solution covers over 200 routes across Europe and works with 50 ferry operators, providing access to connections on the most important routes for road transport.
From the perspective of business customers, however, it is not just the extensive network of connections that matters. Equally important is whether the tool supports day-to-day work organisation. That is why the new version of Promy24.com has been developed to be useful not only at the stage of purchasing a crossing, but also in managing the entire process.

A tool for transport, logistics and manufacturing companies

Promy24.com is being developed with specific business users in mind. The platform is primarily used by transport companies, logistics operators and manufacturing firms organising their own supply chains.

In these sectors, a ferry crossing is rarely a standalone element. More often than not, it forms part of a larger, precisely planned process. Any delay, lack of information or the need to manually coordinate details subsequently affects the work of the freight forwarder, the logistics department, the warehouse or production.
The new system is designed to mitigate this problem. It has been designed to facilitate decision-making and shorten the path from enquiry to a successfully organised crossing.

Over 200 routes and automatic bookings on selected routes

One of Promy24.com’s strongest assets remains the wide range of available connections. The platform covers over 200 ferry routes across Europe and offers 24/7 automatic bookings on selected routes.

For customers, this means greater operational flexibility, particularly when transport decisions are made in the evening, at night, at the weekend, or in situations requiring an immediate response. In the reality of the transport and logistics market, this is not a bonus. It is simply a prerequisite for efficient operation.

Always up-to-date information

One of the system’s key, unchanging values is real-time access to operational information. Promy24.com provides updates on ferry service disruptions, changes by operators, sea conditions and the availability of crossings.

For customers of PKS Gdańsk Oliwa, this means a single reliable source they can use when planning routes requiring a ferry crossing. In an environment where timetables are tight and availability can change rapidly, up-to-date information becomes a practical operational tool, not just an extra feature.

Greater cost control thanks to transparent pricing

Promy24.com has been developing a working model based on transparency for years. In the vast majority of cases, crossing prices are visible directly on the platform, allowing users to quickly compare options and make decisions without unnecessary delays.

For transport and logistics companies, this has a very practical dimension. It is easier to control the budget, quote for orders more quickly and limit the risk of unexpected costs. In an environment of fluctuating costs and margin pressure, such predictability is not a luxury, but an essential element of good management.

Automation supported by people who know the realities of the market

The new version of Promy24.com was not built in isolation from day-to-day practice. Promy24.com is developing the platform using a model that combines technology with operational support from the team.

Customers can benefit not only from the online tool but also from the assistance of dedicated account managers who support the organisation of crossings and remain in direct contact throughout the subsequent stages of service.

This is particularly important where the standard process is insufficient. Promy24.com also handles shipments requiring special conditions, including ADR and oversized loads. In such cases, it is not merely access to the crossing that matters, but the experience in carrying out the entire operation efficiently and without unnecessary complications.

Fewer parties, a simpler process

Support with declarations and formalities related to crossings remains a key element of the service model. Promy24.com also assists clients with declarations and systems such as ENS, GMR, ELO and Portbase.

From a business customer’s perspective, this is a very tangible benefit: less fragmentation, less manual coordination of multiple partners, and a greater chance that the entire process will run smoothly from start to finish.

What does a business customer actually gain?

  • a quicker comparison of available crossing options,
  • greater cost predictability,
  • fewer manual arrangements and less operational chaos,
  • access to up-to-date information on the situation on ferry routes,
  • support with formalities and handling non-standard shipments,
  • a single partner combining technology with practical operational support.

“Looking back over 25 years, it is clear that today the value of ferry crossings is not determined solely by the availability of connections. The ability to manage the entire process efficiently is of key importance. That is why we are developing Promy24.com as a tool that combines up-to-date information, speed of operation and direct operational support. Our long-standing presence in the market and the scale of our operations also translate into our relationships with ferry operators. It is thanks to them that our customers benefit from the commercial terms and availability we have secured, which would often be more difficult to achieve without such a system” – Sebastian Olszewski, Vice-President of the Management Board of PKS Gdańsk Oliwa SA

The development of Promy24.com as part of PKS Gdańsk Oliwa’s broader approach

For PKS Gdańsk Oliwa, Promy24.com is not a side project, but a key element in developing services that support international road transport and logistics.
Over the years, the ferry market has evolved from being viewed as a technical segment of a route to becoming one of the key elements in planning entire supply chains. The platform’s new version responds precisely to this change. Instead of a simple booking model, it offers a more structured, predictable and practical way of organising crossings for businesses.
